AP Physics 1 is an algebra based, introductory college level physics course. Students cultivate their under standing of Physics through inquiry based investigations as they explore topics such as Newtonian mechanics ( including rotational motion) ; work, energy , and power ; mechanical waves and sound; and introductory, simple circuits. Each student is assigned to a Stutorialz AP Pysics 1 tutor to help them during their AP physics course. This course is a blend of one-on-one sessions with the AP Physics 1 tutor, and online self-guided study leading up to the AP Physics 1 exam. Students will have up to two live online sessions per week with the instructor at an agreed upon time. Students will actively engage with the lectures and online resources, and will be presented with AP Physics 1 practice tests at the end of each chapter. The online and computer-based resources coupled with the chapter assignments help to reinforce concepts taught in the AP Physics 1 online course. Students and parents can review progress and access the learning tools through graded assessments, which include chapter quizzes, midterm exams, and a cumulative final.

In AP Physics 1, students explore topics such as Newtonian mechanics, work, energy, power, mechanical waves and sound, and simple circuits through inquiry-based learning. AP Physics 1 is an introductory college-level physics course based on fundamentals learned in **algebra**, and our expert Stutorialz AP Physics 1 tutors will help students navigate and understand even the toughest college-level concepts. Our online AP Physics 1 course is a blend of one-on-one sessions with the** Stutorialz tutor**, and online self-guided work. Students will have up to two digital one-on-one sessions per week with the tutor, and spend the rest of the week actively engaging in the study resources, lectures, and practice tests. Students and parents can review progress and access the **learning tools** through graded assessments, which include chapter quizzes, midterm exams, and a cumulative final.

- Strong Foundations in Mathematics, Understand:
- Have mastered the content and material of both Algebra I and Geometry courses.
- Have either mastered the content and material of an Algebra II course or be concurrently enrolled in that Algebra II course alongside the Advanced Placement Physics course.
- Apply basic mathematical principles such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of numbers with exponentials and/ or scientific notation.
- Apply basic mathematical principles such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of numbers associated with ratios, proportions and significant figures.
- Convert from fractions to decimals to percentages and reversals of steps.
- Convert from one unit to other units using S.I. units and dimensional analysis (metric prefixes)
- Solve and manipulate algebraic equations with one or more unknown variables.
- Apply order of operations so as to solve various equations.
- Have a foundational understanding of geometry and trigonometry, for using right triangles, the Pythagorean Theorem and manipulating equations including sin, cos, and tan.
- Maintain a reading pace of two chapters or more per week.
- Reach a level of proficiency in the comprehension of an English language text.
- Have the capability of taking notes over the chapter sections and making sense of the vocabulary as well as the concepts.
- Apply logical reasoning to solve problems and derive solutions from a problem, generally speaking.
- Distinguish abstract concepts and apply them along with evidence ie., data, to justify specific conclusions in problem solving processes.
- Familiarize themselves with tools that physicists use such as the scientific method as well as others.
- Be proficient in visualization and/ or spatial reasoning skills for rotating objects in space, as rigid bodies are undergoing three dimensional motion.
- Be proficient in computer spreadsheet programs, so as to handle and manipulate data. This is for the use of the formula writing skills as well as creating graphs and charts using data in the spreadsheet.
- Provide explanatory answers rather than just the number solution to problems. Students who have proficient verbal skills tend to perform better on the paragraph portion of the AP test.
- Practice assessment taking strategies so as to be adept at navigating through test situations in a timely manner.
- Provide answers for both quantitative solutions as well as qualitative solutions and discerning between the two, as to which the test is referring to, when given a test prompt.
